Jack Daniel’s Releases Its Highest-Proof Whiskey Ever

If you’re gearing up for Fourth of July but aren’t quite sure yet what to get for beverages, Jack Daniel’s has you covered. Just in time for Independence Day, the famed Tennessee distillery has released its highest-proof whiskey ever.

You may already be familiar with Jack’s 2021 Single Barrel Special Release: Coy Hill High Proof — we think it’s one of the best Tennesee whiskeys you can buy. Well, it turns out that during the bottling of that release, 55 barrels ended up having Angel’s Shares that were too high, resulting in whiskey that was too strong to be bottled as part of the Single Barrel release. Rather than just getting rid of the super-strong hooch, Jack Daniel’s has now bottled it for release as the 2022 Small Batch Special Release: Coy Hill High Proof.

The new whiskey boasts a unique flavor and character in addition to its stronger proof, according to the distillery, but it’s still the high proof that’s caught our attention the most. The 55 barrels were batched together to create five unique batches with proofs of 143.6, 147.3, 149.8, 153.2, and 155.1, with the latter ranking as the highest-proof whiskey that Jack Daniel’s has ever released.

If you’re hoping to get your hands on the 2022 Small Batch Special Release: Coy Hill High Proof, you’re going to need to head to Tennessee. Released today, the whiskey is available only at Jack Daniel’s own White Rabbit Bottle Shop and at select stores across the state.
