The premium spirits space is booming in ways we’ve never seen before. A pandemic-induced quarantine, waves of celebrity labels, and overall increased demand in craft spirits have formed the perfect storm to elevate the alcohol industry to new heights. One spirit that’s finally getting the love and popularity it’s due is gin, which is enduring a surge in popularity due to its versatility as a cocktail base. As far as gin brands are concerned, few are more notable than Hendrick’s, which is making waves with its new ocean-inspired gin: Neptunia.
Drawing inspiration from the “magic of the sea,” Neptunia is a limited-release gin that features lush, coastal botanicals and offers a crisp and satisfying citrus finish. Hendrick’s, a Scottish institution, has long channeled the magic of the ocean in its product, as The Hendrick’s Gin Palace is a mere two miles away from the Ayrshire coast of southwest Scotland. Neptunia shares a particularly strong connection with the sea since Master Distiller Ms. Lesley Gracie used the melody of the waves crashing on the rugged Girvan beach as her muse when developing Neptunia.
Gracie’s aim when creating Neptunia was to craft a gin that evoked the sensation of imbibing “the sea bottled in a gin.” Neptunia’s flavor profile boasts the freshness of coastal botanicals, the deep complexity of sea botanicals, and the trademark bright, citrusy finish that we all have come to know and love about Hendrick’s. Hendrick’s is also selling Magic-of-the-Sea Spa Kits to celebrate the release of this new gin. The kits feature a submersion projector, seashell headphones, a Scottish seaweed and rose exfoliating mask, a candle, highball glasses, and an octopus stirrer.
Even better, all proceeds of the Magic-of-the-Sea Spa Kits go to Project Seagrass, an organization that helps fund the conservation of seagrass meadows and raises awareness of its importance to marine ecosystems. Hendrick’s Neputnia has an ABV of 43.4% and retails for $40.
