Disney has been turning heads lately for the increasingly eye-popping prices the company has been charging for various experiences and products. Under the leadership of new CEO Bob Chapek, the Mouse House has quickly morphed into a luxury lifestyle brand, unveiling new offerings like a $110,000 world tour, a $6,000 two-night stay in a Star Wars hotel, and now the latest, a $5,000 cocktail.
Yes, you read that right. The cruise ship Disney Wish, the pearl of the company’s Disney Cruise Line fleet, has unveiled the Kaiburr Crystal, an elaborate cocktail served aboard the ship’s Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Lounge. The swanky, out-of-this-world bar is the first Star Wars-themed space on any Disney cruise ship, and any Skywalker fans looking to celebrate that fact on board better bring their wallets.
While there’s been no confirmation yet as to what exactly is in the Kaiburr Crystal cocktail, what is known is that the drink is served in numerous glasses inside a droid-inspired bucket that dramatically opens with lights, smoke, and sounds. Hopefully, buyers will have the option of keeping the vessel after plunking down their $5K, but there’s no word on that, either.
Naturally, the Hyperspace Lounge offers other drinks for far more reasonable prices, but we get the feeling that the bar will forever be known as the establishment with the $5,000 drink. If you want to try a Kaibur Crystal yourself, you can book a trip on the Disney Wish, with three-night cruises starting at $1,751 for two people.
