McIntosh’s Premium 1,500-Watt Loudspeaker Offers Crystal Clear Dialogue

When it comes to home audio setups, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better option than what McIntosh has to offer. Unsurprisingly, the USA-bred manufacturer has upped the ante with its XCS1.5K, a center channel loudspeaker.

McIntosh’s mind-boggling XCS1.5K guarantees you will never miss another word or sound in the next episode of your favorite show. This is primarily thanks to its 1,500-watt power rating and a vast array of 43 drivers, which pave the way for optimized harmony between both sides of the speaker. These include a quartet of 8” long throw cone woofers that can reproduce low frequencies if needed, 14 2.5” aluminum midranges, and 25 quarter-inch dome tweeters.

Each driver is strategically placed based on sonic attributes, as the loudspeaker aims to provide a wide sound field. All that said, it ideally cooperates with the brand’s XRT2.1K and XRT1.K, which would all come together to provide an immersive soundscape with a proper balance of vocals and instrumentation. In order to match these two from a design perspective, it instituted the unique line array that we mentioned earlier, but these are operated in a hybrid Besel alignment, allowing for a shorter line array that still manages to provide balanced sound coverage.

In a world dominated by soundbars, there’s no way to overlook what might be the most impressive one on the market. The XCS1.5K Center Channel Loudspeaker is available via authorized McIntosh stockists for $40,000.
