LG shelved its iconic Wallpaper TV back in 2020 after the ultra-thin OLED line had already established itself as the gold standard. But six years is a long time in the television world, especially with modern technology advancing at a breakneck speed. So when the brand decided to resurrect the Wallpaper concept at CES 2026, we assumed it would be impressive, to say the least.
The OLED evo W6 arrives as a matured version of an already impressive idea, now enhanced with the wireless connectivity that the original models desperately needed.

Thin To Win
The W6 measures 9mm thin when mounted, which admittedly is thicker than the previous generation’s razor-thin 2.6mm profile. But there’s a trade-off worth making here. LG ditched the clunky companion soundbar that housed all the original model’s ports and processing power, replacing it with their Zero Connect Box. This wireless hub can sit up to 33ft away from the screen, transmitting 4K video and audio without the need for cables like before. The increase in thickness is marginal, as this model still gets flush-mounted edge to edge with nothing but a power cable to betray its presence.
Where older models required careful installation to achieve that poster-on-the-wall effect, the W6’s mounting system handles the flush positioning much more easily.

Packing Improved Specs
Along with the improvements in physical design, LG’s new Hyper Radiant Color Technology also makes its debut on the W6, and the specs are ambitious. The company claims brightness levels up to 3.9 times higher than conventional OLEDs, powered by their Brightness Booster Ultra feature. That’s backed up by the third-generation α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor, which brings a Neural Processing Unit that’s 5.6 times more powerful than the previous generation. The Dual AI Engine runs parallel algorithms to sharpen images and reduce noise simultaneously, which should theoretically eliminate that over-processed look that some AI-enhanced displays suffer from.
Likewise, the W6 earned Intertek’s industry-first Reflection Free Premium certification, addressing OLED’s common hurdle of handling bright room reflections. It’s combined with UL-verified Perfect Blacks and Perfect Colors.

Gaming Gets Serious
For gamers, the W6 supports 4K at 165Hz refresh rates with both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility. The 0.1 millisecond pixel response time is overkill for most, but competitive players will appreciate the spec. Where most high-end TVs treat gaming as an afterthought, the W6 integrates the tech.
