The Red Dot’s new M-A Titan camera’s exterior, lens hood, and other components are crafted from solid titanium, assuring remarkable resilience and durability while still being lighter than brass. This is not the first camera for which Leica has instituted a premium makeup, having first crafted a limited-edition model with a titanium composition back in 2001. The M-A Titan comes equipped with an APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH lens for ultimate sharpness from edge to edge. The classically-styled lens also boasts titanium construction for its external components and takes inspiration from the very first Summicron-M.
Considering this refined material makes up the majority of the camera and lens, it is much lighter than the bulk of Leica’s catalog, not to mention that of your average camera from other brands. It’s also worth noting that the M-A Titan is a purely mechanical camera, with no screens or batteries to worry about getting in the way of your old-school artistry.
Given that this is a carefully-crafted precision instrument made from top-shelf materials, Leica isn’t building a ton of them. In fact, the brand has limited production to just 250 units.
