If you’ve spent any time in the world of cameras, you’ve likely stumbled across Leica’s unmistakable little red dot (and the prices that follow). While the label’s gear certainly goes for a premium, the cameras are simply in a league of their own. Insta360 may not have as much history as Leica, but they’ve made a name for themselves by manufacturing nifty 360-degree cameras for nearly a decade. Now, the pair have teamed up on the Insta360 Ace Pro, a GoPro-inspired action camera with Leica optics ringing in the new Ace lineup.

While it’s cool to see Insta360 try their hand at a GoPro-esque action cam, the real kicker here is the inclusion of the Leica Summarit lens on the Pro version, providing state-of-the-art lowlight performance. The Ace Pro is equipped with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and can record up to 8K at 24 FPS, and the base Ace is rocking a 1/2-inch sensor and giving you up to 6K at 30 FPS. You’re also getting a flippable 2.4” touchscreen, waterproof protection up to 33ft, and fast charging, providing 80% battery life in 22 minutes.

On top of the new tech, the Ace lineup also features an AI spotlighting assistant function that can identify/extract different moments from your recordings, and once the footage is on your phone, you can edit it yourself or let the assistant generate some highlights. Another AI feature (AI Warp) can help apply some effects through custom inputs and/or preset prompts.

The Insta360 Ace Pro starts at $450 (including a 1650mAh battery, standard mount, flexible adhesive mount, and type-C to C cable), and the Insta360 Ace starts at $380 (including the gear from the Pro, but with a 1700mAh battery). They’re also offering a free T-shirt while supplies last, 20% off Insta360 care, and an extended warranty when purchased with select products.
