While the smartphone wars have more or less come down to who has the best camera, determining what company makes the best smartwatch is (luckily) more complex than that, which is a benefit considering just how many of them offer premium features nowadays. In an attempt to boost its rank in the space higher than ever, Garmin has unveiled a pair of shiny new running watches that still put its distinctive brand of high-tech functioning above all else.

The two new models are the Forerunner 265 and 965, each featuring an entirely new touchscreen AMOLED display. To some surprise, these are Garmin’s first-ever examples to boast such advanced tech, as both watches have full-color faces that are easy to read for keeping track of stats, data, and weather on the go. And while these striking additions significantly improve their operations, the leading tech company’s performance insight leaves little room for disappointment, as either iteration is here to last a marathon — yes, pun intended. With race widget features, a training readiness score, and the ability to personalize your daily workout, both options are ideal for staying ahead of fitness goals.

Of course, there had to have been some difference between both models, and it is undoubtedly the battery life. Moreover, the Forerunner 965 offers up to 31 hours of usage when operating GPS mode while lasting as long as 23 days when using smartwatch mode — that’s over three weeks of power! Meanwhile, the 265 delivers 20 hours in GPS mode and 13 days in smartwatch mode.
