2024 marks the 90th anniversary of Fujifilm, one of the world’s imaging leaders, whether it’s photography, printers, movie cameras, or medical devices. A few years back, the Japanese company debuted a premium offering to its Instax range, the Mini Evo. Now to mark its anniversary, the brand has unveiled a pair of special-edition variants of the camera.
The Death and Rise of Instant Photography
Compared to 2024, instant gratification was more of a luxury in the ‘70s and ‘80s when instant cameras first became popular. It’s why, in the early parts of the new millennium, it was even weirder that these Polaroid-style units were seeming to disappear in favor of digital cameras. Things seemed to have balanced out a bit and brands like Fujifilm and Polaroid have found definite markets for their instant photography products.
Fujifilm, in particular, has found a nice niche with its Instax lineup, which now features hybrid models like the Square and Mini Evo, acting as digital cameras but with printing capability so you can use your newly taken photograph in a variety of ways.
Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo 90th Anniversary Basics
The 90th-anniversary models are marked by their new skins: Dark Silver and Titanium Gold. Along with the camera purchase, you’ll get a bundle that includes a camera case and matching lens cap and shoulder strap.
Aside from the colorways, it’s business as usual. This includes impressive features such as bolstered exposure, premium print quality, a ⅕-inch CMOS sensor, ten different lens options with ten customizable filters, and a 3-inch LCD screen. You can also use Bluetooth to print from your phone’s camera roll as well.
