You’ve probably seen those colorful Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 cameras by now, and if you haven’t yet, keep an eye out for a little pastel instant camera. While these are built for a more casual audience, the simplicity and fun factor made them a favorite among both professionals and hobbyists. Now Fujifilm is back with another retro instant camera, the Instax Mini 99, boasting built-in LEDs to color your photos.

First off, let’s talk about the start of the show here: you’re getting built-in LED lights that are exposed directly to the film in the camera, giving you a colorful tint without the need for any post effects. These LEDs give you six analog color effects to choose from (Sepia, Light Leak, Faded Green, Warm Tone, Light Blue, and Soft Magenta), and you can swap between them using the color effect dial. You can also swap between five levels of brightness using the brightness control dial, and combine this with the color effects to get a more unique shot (along with the double exposure effect). There’s a vignette mode as well, so the blades inside the lens will protrude and reduce peripheral light when you slide the manual vignette switch, and it’s equipped with five shooting modes in total (Normal, Indoor, Sports, Double Exposure, and Bulb).

Getting into the specs now, it packs a 60mm f/10 lens, an LCD panel to see your shots, and an NP-70S lithium battery for plenty of battery life. It comes with a shoulder strap and a base grip with a tripod mount, and there are a few optional accessories to choose from as well, like the Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 Camera Case and INSTAX MINI photo album.
