Tested: The Best MagSafe Accessories for Everyday Carry

A few weeks back we rounded up the best MagSafe wallets, and consider this the natural follow-up: everything else those magnets can do. And the timing just felt right with Apple just unveiling its new iPhones, headlined by the much buzzed about, folding Duo. Think of this as our proper farewell to the iPhone 17 before we move on to the 18 in the next few weeks.

And while we’re certainly suckers for what’s new and exciting, the iPhone 17 in our pocket is really just hitting its prime. Accessory makers have had a full year to build for it, and there’s so much great stuff on the market.

We’ve used just about every MagSafe accessory over the past year, and today we’re bidding farewell to the current iPhone with a guide to the best MagSafe accessories for the iPhone 17. 

So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Oh Snap MCON Magnetic iPhone Controller

As the story goes, a college kid by the name of Josh King missed the Game Boy era many of us grew up in, and he just couldn’t find a pocketable MagSafe controller. So, he posted his own 3D-printed fix to YouTube. The internet lost its mind, King left school, and when funding stalled for the project, Oh Snap partnered with him to finish the job. 

When closed, it’s a basically phone-sized slab with every stick and button tucked safely inside. Press the release and it springs open in one really satisfying motion. And using it is dead simple – snap it to your iPhone and you’re playing within seconds.It’s one of these devices that will have you flicking it open and close, over and over again.

The hardware lineup includes GameSir’s anti-drift TMR joysticks, Hall effect triggers, a gyro, and silent tactile buttons. The device will auto-sleep when closed, pairs with three devices, and we’ve found the claimed nine-hour battery life to pretty spot-on. 

You can even eject the puck into Kickback mode and your phone props up for tabletop play.

We will say, it can be a bit top-heavy until you deploy the palm grips, and the recessed sticks mean your thumbs will occasionally catch the sidewalls. But it’s one of the few phone controllers we’ve actually carried. 

TELESIN C03 Magnetic Selfie Light

For the most part, clip-on phone lights have meant nothing more to us than landfill product, but we have to say, the C03 feels like an exception to that rule.

Snap it to your phone and the hinged zinc alloy puck flips, extends, and spins a full 360 degrees, so mid-vlog you can rotate the light off your face and throw it at whatever the rear cameras are pointed at. 

A knurled wave wheel handles stepless dimming from 10 to 100 percent, with three color temps from 2700K candlelight to 7500K daylight, and a CRI 97 rating  works really well on all skin tones we’ve tested. Flip the lid around and there’s even a little mirror hiding inside for framing rear-camera selfies (or making some quick adjustments before you hit record).

The 500mAh battery lasts for about 45 minutes on full blast – which isn’t great. But you can dial it down for video calls and it stretches through an 8-hour work day. And, USB-C tops it off fast when you need a quick recharge. There’s even an adhesive ring in the box for laptops and Android phones.

Satechi OnTheGo 7-in-1 Multiport Adapter

When Apple moved the iPhone to USB-C, it meant that we could finally use our phones more like computers, complete with real peripherals. Satechi jumped right on that opportunity. Their hockey puck shaped hub snaps magnetically to the back of your iPhone, and uses a braided cable that wraps around similar to a yo-yo string. 

And while it works great for the iPhone, MacBooks are aluminum, and unfortunately, magnets won’t be much help there. But Satechi includes an adhesive ring so the puck can ride hidden on your laptop lid. We did find it only survives a couple of resticks though, so make sure to plan accordingly if you go this route.

This little device has been a great companion on the go, allowing us to dump a camera card straight to our phone in the field, hardwire internet when traveling, and even ran a 4K signal to a hotel TV.  It also passes power through to keep everything charged.

We will say that the rounded body makes seating an SD card slightly awkward, with just a faint scrape we never loved. And the USB-C port is power only, and does not transfer data. 

Bellroy Venture Phone Case

A case might feel like a bit of an odd pick for this guide, but many protective cases out there have a tendency to negatively impact MagSafe. Bellroy built their Venture phone case entirely around a full-strength ring, so everything else we’re covering snaps on like the case isn’t even there.

The TPU polymer shell has a nice soft-touch finish with grippy side grooves, and the interior is lined in a plush microfiber (in a signature Bellroy pop color). If you look a bit closer, you’ll notice that the buttons are actual textured metal rather than molded bumps. Even the iPhone 17 Pro’s Camera Control gets a proper raised button instead of using one of those mushy cutouts.

It’s equipped with a raised rim that guards the camera plateau, the bumpers are built for real bumps, and Bellroy includes an adjustable corded lanyard that loops around your wrist to ensure your phone stays on person during your next adventure.

Anker MagGo Power Bank

Funny how things shake out. In our old MagSafe accessories guide, Apple’s own Battery Pack narrowly beat two different Anker challengers for the battery slot. Of course, Apple has since abandoned the category entirely, and Anker has really become the torch bearer for the category.

The pack is Qi2 certified, which means full 15W wireless speed off just the battery stuck to your phone. The 10,000mAh cell is good for roughly a charge and a half on an iPhone 17 Pro (half a charge takes just under 45 minutes), and if you’re truly desperate, the USB-C port pushes nearly double the wattage wired.

And while all of that’s great, it’s the little livability details that won us over. A small screen reads out exact percentage and time remaining, the flick-out kickstand props your phone for a movie while it refuels, and pass-through charging tops off both from one cable overnight.

It is a bit on the heavier side, weighing just over half a pound, but Anker does also offer a slimmer MagGo with no screen and a little less bulk.

Moft Trackable Snap on Phone Stand Wallet

If you caught our MagSafe wallets guide a few weeks back, you already know that the Moft Trackable is still one of our favorites in the category, especially at the price point.

The origami formula remains Moft’s trademark superpower. A quarter-inch slab of MOVAS vegan leather unfolds into a grip, a two-card wallet, and a stand with portrait, landscape, and floating modes, all held to your phone by a solid 15N of magnetic force. And it’s one of the stronger magnets we’ve tested in the category.

It’s also got Apple Find My baked right into the body, so if you accidentally leave it at something like a restaurant, you can simply ping its 70dB speaker or trace it across Apple’s global network. It recharges on any Qi or MagSafe pad, and 90 minutes of charging buys six months of tracking.

As we mentioned on our MagSafe wallet guide, capacity does top out at two cards, and there’s no RFID blocking. 

Aulumu G05 Pro Multi Function Mag Kickstand

Aulumu already snuck a multi-tool onto our MagSafe wallets guide with the G03, and the G05 Pro doubles down on the bit – it’s basically a kickstand that moonlights as a Swiss Army knife. It also just won itself a 2026 Red Dot award, which is no surprise after spending some time with the device.

The foundation is a 38-gram aluminum disc that props your phone at any angle up to 80 degrees, rotates freely between portrait and landscape, and grips harder than almost any other stand we’ve tested.

The rotation ratchets with an incredibly satisfying click, in fact so much so that Aulumu markets it as a fidget toy.

Of course, the main selling point are those tools we mentioned. There’s a utility knife, screwdriver, steel file, saw blade, and SIM pin, all folded into the stand arm, with a working protractor engraved in the bezel. 

To be clear, these are absolutely not replacements for real tools. They’re for the moment a box shows up and your knife is in the garage. The blade is a bit stubby, and the saw takes a fingernail to deploy, but all in all, it’s a convenient little tool.

Oh Snap Snap Grip Stand

While PopSocket really craved out this lane, Oh Snap is giving them a run for their money with their Snap Grip Stand.

Oh Snap took their collapsible pyramid grip and bolted on the one thing grips always needed: a proper fold-out metal stand attached to a friction hinge. And while we haven’t confirmed this, it’s a setup the brand states is rated for over 7,500 open-close cycles.

The magnets are probably the strongest we’ve tested on any grip. Snap it on and the phone stays put through pocket drags, one-handed scrolling, and the kind of absent-minded fidgeting these things tend to invite. 

The stand is also just as confident. Two struts hold the phone steady in portrait or landscape at nearly any angle, low enough for those lazy bedside sessions, and it didn’t flinch when we poked at the screen mid-video.

Folded, the whole thing is quite thin (sitting 3.4 millimeters proud), and is even lower than the camera bump. Depending on your case and charger, fast wireless charging can even pass straight through it, though popping it off only takes about two seconds if yours won’t.

It is worth noting that the outward-facing magnet is the weak link here, so make sure to mount it to a proper MagSafe dock rather than trusting it on something like a fridge.

Plaud Note Pro AI Voice Recorder

Here’s a growing category that nobody saw coming just a few years ago: the AI voice recorder as a MagSafe accessory. The Plaud Note Pro has really been the catalyst, and essentially a credit-card-sized sliver of aluminum that lives on the back of your phone, and turns every conversation into searchable, summarized text.

The way it works is pretty cool. A vibration sensor picks up both sides of a call through the phone’s own body. There’s no speakerphone, no janky workarounds, and it switches automatically between call mode and in-person mode.

For meetings and interviews, four beamforming mics reach across a conference table, a long press starts recording, and a short press flags the moments you’ll want back later. And a tiny AMOLED strip confirms it’s actually rolling, which is a nice touch.

The transcription runs through the Plaud app and we found it to be pretty accurate (we’d say it and in the 90-percent-accuracy range in our experience).  It also features AI summaries that turn an hour of rambling into a page of usable notes and it can do so across 112 languages. Battery life is really impressive, and we’ve only needed to charge every few weeks with the brand claiming two months on standby.

One thing worth mentioning, you do only get 300 free transcription minutes monthly and heavy users will probably end up on the roughly $100-a-year plan, and everything happens in the cloud (which we’d advise to check your local consent laws before using).

If you live in meetings, this is a great piece of tech that we use much more regularly than we thought we would.

Aiffro P10 Magnetic PSSD 1TB

Storage has become quite an issue for pretty much anyone who creates on the go. The Aiffro P10 looks to take some of that stress off your plate, offering up a full terabyte of storage in a tiny little MagSafe disc. 

It’s basically a 41-gram aluminum puck ( also thinner than the camera bump) and it moves files pretty fast on the go: 5GB video clips would land on our laptop in seconds. 

Two fitted cables come in the box, and you’ll want to keep using them, because a random spare cable will certainly cut down on transfer speeds. There’s also a small quirk we discovered while using it: there’s a tiny power button, and leaving the drive on while it’s stuck to your phone will eat away at your battery

The device is pretty simple to use. Snap to your phone, plug it in and you’re good to go. There’s not much else to it. We will say that full-rated speed requires a port most laptops don’t actually have, so expect roughly half on a MacBook (which is still really quick). And if you’re rocking a thick case, that short cable may put up a bit of a fight.

All-in-all, we’ve still found it to be a solid emergency backup storage on the go.

Clicks Power Keyboard

If you spent the late 2000s hammering out messages on a BlackBerry like us, this one definitely hits a nerve. From the moment we saw the news, we were excited to get hands on with this device. 

The Clicks Power Keyboard snaps to the back of any MagSafe phone, and with one satisfying push, the whole thing slides open into a backlit physical keyboard. And when you’re done, it slides shut and disappears.

It’s a proper Bluetooth keyboard underneath, pairing with up to nine devices, so it can even moonlight as a remote for your iPad or Apple TV. Dig into the app and you can navigate the entire phone without ever touching glass, assign shortcuts to key combos, and tap the built-in battery for a trickle of wireless charging. Although it’s just enough to hold your percentage steady on a commute, not refill it.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that this is a first-generation product, and it definitely types like one. The round keys are tiny, there’s more of a learning curve than BBM lovers like ourselves expected, and portrait mode gets top-heavy really fast. The app can also be a bit finicky to deal with.

But flip it to landscape, give it a few days, and it does start to click a bit more. It’s pretty fast, tactile, and it gives you a bit of that joy typing on glass has never delivered.

We can’t quite call it finished, but having missed the feeling of Blackberry for fifteen years, we feel like there’s something here, it just might need a bit of work to get it over the finish line. 

Belkin Magnetic Charging Camera Grip with Power Bank

Seeing that the iPhone has single-handledly changed the digital camera landscape, it only felt right to close out with Belkin’s Stage PowerGrip.

The clever device snaps to your iPhone and instantly changes how it feels in the hand. It’s basically modeled to feel like a proper DSLR-style grip complete with a physical two-stage shutter button (via Bluetooth), and a quarter-inch tripod thread underneath. 

The sleeper feature though is everything it does when you’re not shooting. Inside is a 9,300mAh battery, feeding your phone wirelessly while a retractable USB-C cable and a second port charge two more devices at once. A little LCD reads out the remaining charge, and the whole thing doubles as a bedside stand in portrait or landscape.

LIke many other “charging devices” on the guide, wireless output to the phone is a maintain-your-charge 7.5W rather than a fast top-off. And there’s no rotating mount, so vertical video means you have to physically turn the phone by hand.

But, we still think it’s a strong way to send off the iPhone 17, especially for creatives.
