DJI Updated Their Flagship ‘Mavic’ Drone Through a Variety of Packages

DJI has been on a major roll within the past few weeks. Shortly after revealing their Action Cam 2, the Chinese tech wizards are back with another big product debut as they are showcasing major enhancements to their flagship drone with the announcement of the Mavic 3.

Featuring Omnidirectional multi-sensing, the drone practically has a mind of its own, as its vision sensors coincide with its engine to detect potential obstacles. For owners of the brand’s prior renditions, one clear-cut improvement from the Mavic’s prior model is the addition of a 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera and 24mm lens that’s capable of shooting 5.1K/50FPS or the industry benchmark of 4K/120FPS, rather than the previous gen which maxed out at 4K/30FPS. The Mavic 3 also provides a longer flight time than its predecessor, offering a rather impressive 46 minutes compared to 34, as those 12 extra ticks will surely prove to be integral when catching some additional footage. While Mavic 3 will be sold as a standalone drone, there are a pair of other package options available in the Fly More Combo and Cine Premium Combo. The Fly More comes equipped with an extra couple of Intelligent Flight Batteries, a set of ND filters, a battery charging hub, and a convenient carrying case for all of the accessories. Even more impressive than this mid-tier bundle is the Cine Premium, which features all of this, plus the ability to support Apple’s mightily impressive ProRes 422 HQ video recording while boasting a built-in 1TB SSD.

The standard option of the Mavic 3 is available now from DJI starting at $2,200, while the Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo tops out at a whopping $4,500.

Purchase: $2,200+
