iPhone 17 and 17 Pro

The iPhone 17 brings ProMotion’s 120Hz display to the base model for the first time, ending years of artificial differentiation that never made sense. The 6.3-inch display is designed to be smoother, whether you’re scrolling through social media or gaming. Apple also doubled the starting storage to 256GB, which is long overdue given how much space 4K video and high-resolution photos consume.

The real story is the iPhone 17 Pro’s heat-forged aluminum unibody design. The new thermal management system uses an Apple-designed laser-welded vapor chamber that works with the aluminum structure to move heat away from the A19 Pro chip more efficiently than ever before. The result is sustained performance that doesn’t throttle under heavy loads.

What immediately stands out is the camera system’s leap forward. The new 48MP telephoto camera delivers up to 8x optical zoom with a 56% larger sensor, giving you an equivalent 200mm focal length. Combined with the 48MP main and ultra-wide cameras, you’re essentially carrying eight professional lenses in your pocket. The marquee addition is ProRes RAW support, making the iPhone 17 Pro the first smartphone capable of this industry-leading video codec that Hollywood actually uses.

The 18MP Center Stage front camera appears across the entire iPhone 17 lineup. The square sensor enables zoom and rotate options without moving your phone, automatically expanding the field of view when friends join your selfies.

Available September 19, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro are priced at $799 and $1,099, respecitvely. A larger iPhone 17 Pro Max (6.9″ instead of 6.3″) is also available for $1,199.

iPhone Air

At 5.6mm thick and weighing just 165g, the iPhone Air pushes physics in ways that seem impossible. This isn’t just about being thin but about completely rethinking internal architecture to deliver pro-level performance in a form factor that makes every other phone feel chunky.

The A19 Pro chip inside the Air performs identically to the Pro models, which is remarkable engineering. Apple’s new C1X modem contributes significantly to the power efficiency, making this the most battery-conscious iPhone ever made. The 6.5-inch display feels massive despite the impossibly thin profile, and the 48MP Fusion camera system proves you don’t need bulk for exceptional photography.

The design philosophy here goes beyond mere aesthetics. The “plateau” camera bump creates additional internal space for components while maintaining the impossibly slim profile everywhere else. You get pro-level performance and cameras without the telephoto lens or video features most users never touch anyway.

Available starting September 19, the iPhone Air will be priced at $999.

AirPods Pro 3

The AirPods Pro 3 deliver what feels like science fiction made real. Live Translation powered by Apple Intelligence lets you hear people speaking different languages translated through your AirPods, with your responses appearing as text on your iPhone. Even better, if both people have AirPods Pro 3, you can each speak in your native language and hear translations seamlessly.

The active noise cancellation improvement is substantial. Apple claims 2x better than AirPods Pro 2 and 4x better than the original AirPods Pro. New ultra-low-noise microphones and five ear tip sizes (including XXS) create better acoustic seals. The foam-infused silicone tips represent a meaningful upgrade in both comfort and sound isolation.

The heart rate sensing opens entirely new fitness possibilities. Using LEDs that pulse 256 times per second combined with accelerometer data, the AirPods Pro 3 can track heart rate and calories burned across 50 different workout types.

Likewise, the improved Hearing Aid capability now offers 67% more battery life in Transparency mode, reaching 10 hours on a single charge. Automatic Conversation Boost amplifies voices while minimizing background noise, and you can take scientifically validated hearing tests in various background conditions. For people with mild to moderate hearing loss, these could replace dedicated hearing aids.

Priced at $249, the AirPods Pro 3 will be available starting September 19.

Apple Watch Series 11 and SE 3

The Apple Watch Series 11 introduces hypertension notifications — a life-saving feature that analyzes blood vessel responses over 30-day periods to detect patterns of chronic high blood pressure. Considering hypertension affects over 1.3 billion adults worldwide and often goes undiagnosed, this could be one of Apple’s most impactful health innovations.

There’s also a new sleep score feature that analyzes sleep duration, bedtime consistency, and sleep stages. You still get sleep apnea detection from before, but the earbuds have now become a valuable sleep health monitor that could help identify serious conditions early on.

The Apple Watch finally gets 5G connectivity, with a new modem and antenna for improved service in weaker areas. The battery life reaches 24 hours of normal use, with 38 hours in Low Power Mode and 8 hours from just 15 minutes of charging.

On the entry-level tier, the Apple Watch SE 3 brings several premium features down to the $249 price point, including an always-on display, temperature sensing for Vitals app insights, and sleep score analysis. The S10 chip provides the same performance as the Series 11 and Ultra 3, proving Apple isn’t artificially limiting performance on the cheaper model.

Apple Watch Ultra 3

Last year, we didn’t get a new Apple Watch Ultra release, but fans should be excited for some updates to the brand’s adventure-focused smart watch line, including built-in satellite communcation. When you’re off-grid without cellular or Wi-Fi, you can still send messages, share your location via Find My, and contact emergency services, all from your wrist. This is potentially life-saving for athletes, hikers, and anyone who ventures beyond cell coverage.

The 42-hour battery life in normal use extends to 72 hours in Low Power Mode, with outdoor workouts lasting up to 14 hours with full GPS and heart rate tracking. Fast charging delivers 12 hours of use from just 15 minutes of charging, which matters when you’re planning multi-day adventures.

Improving coverage in areas with weak reception, the Ultra’s dual-frequencey GPS gets bolstered with a new 5G modem and antenna architecture. For runners, cyclists, and serious athletes, this means more reliable connectivity during training and competitions.

Adventure features continue to evolve with improved offline map support, custom route creation, and the Oceanic+ app that turns the Ultra 3 into a full dive computer. The Tides app provides seven days of detailed shoreline information for over 115,000 beaches worldwide.

Priced at $799, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is available September 19.
