Salomon is arguably the hottest performance shoemaker in the game right now, and its latest collaboration is carrying that ethos over to two-wheelers. Working alongside cycling boutique Pas Normal Studios, the brands have churned out a special edition spin on the XA Alpine 2 Advanced.
Boasting the same weather-ready composition we’ve come accustomed to with the silhouette, the collaborative take on the matter is far more about it its outdoor-ready aesthetic. Regardless, it’s hard to overlook the high top’s prowess from a performance perspective, as it retains its carbon-edged chassis, Mud Contagrip outsole with deep lugs, and an EVA midsole for lightweight shock retention. Additionally, the trail-running-turned-cycling shoe is finished with a trusty lacing system and protective gaiter for optimum ankle support.
In addition to the redesigned steppers, the Danish imprint is releasing a remarkably versatile new hydration vest to go along with them. Primarily constructed of breathable mesh, this functional gear is rounded out with a sternum adjustment system, a pair of 500ml flasks in both its pockets, and an additional filtered straw so you can stay hydrated mid-ride.
While prices for the technical capsule have not been unveiled, expect to find both products from Salomon and Pas Normal Studios on the latter’s website in February.
