For this latest release, online retailer Huckberry has collaborated with the Michigan-based brand on an exclusive new colorway for the Agility Peak 5 Trail Sneaker.
Considered Merrel’s most nimble and technical trail runner yet, the Agility Peak 5 is built with exceptional care and intuition, from its snug SBR mesh collar and tongue that offers low water absorption to the Vibram MegaGrip and traction lugs (with FLEXconnect grooves) that increase the shoe-to-ground surface area by 50% while also shedding debris along the way. There’s also an athlete-tested rear sling to lock in your heel so you’re not coming home with blisters. On the midsole, you have FloatPro, which offers the most cushion of any trail runner the brand has ever made, while the toe cap is designed to be abrasion-resistant to protect you as much as possible. You also have a rock plate built in for protection underneath.
For this exclusive edition, Huckberry looked to the American West for inspiration — locales such as the sand dunes of Death Valley, as seen by the beige uppers, or the forests, seen in the dark green collar and tongue. The rear of the shoe uses a combination of orange, red, and yellow, which evokes the rock formations of the Southwest. Style-wise, this new Agility Peak 5 is highly versatile, capable of hitting the trail while easily being transposed to city life after your excursion is over.
