These road running shoes boast all the technical elements you’d expect in a pair of premium trainers and then some. Its upper is composed of engineered single-layer creel mesh, paving the way for a lightweight feel and optimal breathability. The Mach 5’s top half is rounded out with a lay-flat gusseted tongue to deter any debris from interrupting your workout routine. And while these two features are noteworthy enough in and of themselves, we haven’t even mentioned the best part.
HOKA’s vegan-made design sits on a set of the brand’s proprietary PROFLY+ stacked midsoles, making them sturdier, lighter, and more responsive than ever. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering the pair weighs less than a pound and a half. Additionally, they are equipped with a molded EVA sockliner and a 5mm heel-to-toe drop. Accounting for all this, the marathon-ready steppers bring a vastly improved feel compared to previous iterations in the Mach series.
