And now, Flint and Tinder has partnered with Halley Stevensons on a special-edition version of its Waxed Hudson Jacket.
While its previous iterations, available in several different colorways, are lined with flannel on the inside, this new version puts the plaid pattern on the outside instead, using a 100% BCI cotton dry-waxed canvas shell from legendary Scottish manufacturer Halley Stevensons — one of the forerunners of weatherproof waxed cotton, and a heritage brand that’s been in the game since 1864. For this new release, the two brands have collided for some extra special touches such as the classic corduroy collar (100% cotton) and the aforementioned Black Watch tartan plaid pattern.
Rather than flannel, the soft interior is lined with quilted polyester for warmth and an interior chest pocket for your phone or wallet. Other pocket options include the two drop-in pockets in front, each with a side-entry hand pocket beneath them, a front flap pocket great for EDC gear, and since the jacket is inspired by old-school hunting style, a rear corduroy-lined game pocket. As for the material on the pockets, trim, and cuffs, it utilizes a blend of 66% polyester, 30% wool, and 4% acrylic. Designed to develop a nice patina over the years, this Waxed Hudson Jacket is the perfect heirloom coat to pass down through the generations.
