Lugs on a Legend
Of course, the major update here lives underneath the shoe. The AF1’s famously flat cupsole gets swapped for a proper Vibram lug outsole in a smoky sage green. The tread is deep, aggressive, and built to bite into surfaces the standard shoe would simply slide across.
Look closely at the bottom and you’ll spot a nice touch: the AF1’s signature pivot circle survived the transplant, worked right into the lug pattern.
Ripstop Up Top
The upper trades the usual tumbled leather for a durable ripstop textile, with the grid texture running across the toe box, quarter panels, and Swoosh surround. Paired with the Summit White and Light Bone palette, smoke grey leather accents, and a sail midsole, Nike is definitely leaning into the gorpcore aesthetic with this one.
Underneath it all, the classic Nike Air unit is still doing its job, so the shoe will still feel like the AF1 you already know and love. The five-colorway lineup also includes murdered-out black, volt, and silt red options for those wanting something a bit louder for summer.
