Hybrid training went from niche to everywhere in about two years, and HYROX is the engine doing most of the driving. For the uninitiated, the format stacks eight 1K runs against eight functional stations. So you’re essentially sprinting one minute and shoving a loaded sled the next.
The 2026 World Championships just wrapped in Stockholm this past weekend, with Dylan Scott and Alyssa McElheny taking the Elite 15 titles. And adidas picked that exact stage to roll out the Adizero Dropset Pro, a shoe aimed squarely at the awkward overlap between running fast and lifting heavy.

The Pro Steps Down From the Elite
adidas already had a shoe for the pointy end of this sport. The Adizero Dropset Elite arrived earlier in 2026 at $275, worn by HYROX World Champion Tim Wenisch and built strictly for race day.
The Pro is the version for the rest of us. It carries most of the same thinking for a $150, a much more manageable number for those of us not chasing podiums but still want to train hard.

Race Foam You Can Actually Lift On
The marquee tech comes straight from adidas’ running side. Lightstrike Pro is the same foam packed into the brand’s marathon super shoes. It’s the stuff that’s stacked up a pile of world records. And a set of Energy Rods runs through the midsole to snap you through each heel-to-toe transition.

adidas had to employ a bit of clever engineering to make these work. Marathon foam typically wants to sit tall and bouncy, which is the last thing you want with a barbell on your back. So adidas kept the Pro low and flat, with a 7mm drop and a razor-thin 2.6mm sockliner, so the platform holds steady when you’re loaded up and grinding through squats.

Grippy and Stupid Light
The outsole is Continental rubber, paired with adidas’ Lighttraxion system to keep the bite without the bulk. This is perfect for the HYROX hall, where you go from a sweaty carpet sled push to a hard floor for wall balls without ever swapping shoes.
And it’s light. The men’s pair lands around 8.5 ounces, while most stability-minded trainers feel like ankle weights by comparison. adidas, naturally, has a survey to back the whole pitch up, claiming roughly half of hybrid athletes feel held back by their current shoes.

Recap
adidas Adizero Dropset Pro
adidas took the foam and rods from its marathon super shoes, kept the platform low enough to lift on, and dropped it all into a $150 trainer that debuted right at the HYROX Worlds.
