Somnio’s 728-Foot Mega Yacht Is the “World’s Largest”

Among the litany of status symbols in the world, superyachts are more than likely the most opulent. Reserved for only the wealthiest, most powerful elite on the planet, these floating compounds cost hundreds of millions of dollars and epitomize opulence to the umpteenth degree. Not wanting the glory of superyachts to be monopolized by the ultra-elite and billionaires, famed yacht designers Winch Design and Tillberg Design created a gargantuan yacht that includes 39 luxurious apartments for eccentric millionaires who yearn to own a superyacht.

The Somnio is a first-of-its-kind “yacht-liner” that’s equal parts superyacht and luxury apartment complex. Measuring in at an eye-popping 728-feet long, it will be the world’s largest yacht by length and volume. With a scale of that magnitude, it only makes sense for this gorgeous vessel to boast incredible amenities. Guests aboard the Somnio will have the pleasure of enjoying two restaurants with al fresco dining, a 10,000 bottle wine cellar and tasting room, a Connoisseur Club that’s stacked with fine liquors and cigars, and state-of-the-art gyms, medical facilities, and spas. For those lucky enough to receive an invite to own an apartment aboard the Somnio, they will be able to choose from an array of bespoke, six-star offerings such as a private gym, personal kitchen, a library, and indoor and outdoor dining areas. Apartment sizes will range from 2-bedroom, 597-sq. ft. units to more spacious 3,159-sq.ft. apartments, which provide enough space to include up to 4 bedrooms with a living and dining area. Equally as impressive, the Somnio offers a “never-ending global itinerary” that ranges from remote island chains to polar expeditions in Antarctica. Of course, the Somnio would also be gracing exclusive yachting destinations such as Portofino, Monaco, and French Polynesia.

Regardless of your socioeconomic status, it is clear that the Somnio lives to its Latin name, “dream.” Ownership aboard the Somnio is by invite and referral only, but the companies at the helm have announced that pricing for their apartments starts around $11.4 million.
