The iconic luggage manufacturer garnered inspiration from the Northern Lights to design a limited-edition rendition of its top-selling Cabin Carry-On. The new release is composed of black grooved aluminum then doused in bright hues of green and purple to combine for a star-studded piece of luggage — literally. Moreover, it is part of Rimowa’s Celestial Collection, which highlights the likes of Mars and the Moon, so it’s refreshing to see the German brand recognize an astral phenomenon found on our actual planet.
As always, Rimowa’s keen attention to detail here is beyond admirable, as the new item is limited to a mere 1,000 models due to the 1,000km per second rate that solar particles entering Earth’s field to result in this eye-catching spectacle. Aurora Borealis Edition Cabin-Carry-On still features all the premium elements that appear on a standard version of the suitcase, including TSA-approved locks, a stable multi-wheel system, and an ergonomic telescope handle. All in all, the Cabin was already one of our favorite suitcases, so this color only sweetens the deal.
