While their large-scale holographic device has been around since the brand’s conception, the PORTL M looks to bring this one-of-a-kind experience to your home as the “world’s first tabletop holographic communication and media device.”
Described as “your window to the Metaverse,” the compact hologram renderer looks to serve as so much more than that. Offering the ability to shop for legitimately tangible products, immerse in life-like entertainment, optimize telehealth meetings, provide you with a personal trainer, and communicate with friends, it seems as if the only thing it can’t do is have Princess Leia tell you that you’re her only hope — but they’re probably working on that. Unsurprisingly, PORTL’s new device also features some pretty impressive tech, including an AI-powered smart camera, fabric-wrapped integrated speakers, and, of course, a multitouch holographic display front and center. With the ability to rotate to your liking, the PORTL M Hologram can be utilized in either a Portrait or Landscape view, allowing the state-of-the-art gadget to be even more versatile.
Thanks to devices like this, the future doesn’t seem anywhere near as far away as it once did, and it’s safe to say that we may as well be there already. The PORTL M is currently available to reserve for a deposit of $100 from the brand’s website and will arrive in your choice of Nimbus White or Dark Matter.
