As supercars have grown increasingly efficient in the aerodynamics of their engineering, they have, consequently, become more and more derivative in the visual appearance of their design. Because let’s face it. Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini — you name it; these days, they’re all looking pretty similar if you ask us.
Never content to adhere to the status quo, however, pixel artist Khyzyl Saleem is back with another shockingly good render: a Tesla concept he’s dubbed the ‘Precept.’ Based on Elon Musk’s upcoming second-generation Roadster model, it sees the open-topped EV transformed into a striking low-slung hypercar. At the front, Saleem has reworked the nose quite thoroughly, adding a massive bumper, some flowing air ducts, as well as a small faux-grille and a deep-sculpted hood. From the side, the Precept carries over some of the roadster’s original design, with the wheels and raked windshield both making the jump. Otherwise, though, it’s a completely different vehicle, gouged with a set of gaping intakes and chopped at the roof for a more striking stance. And when it comes to the back end, Saleem has spared no expense, imagining his Precept concept with plenty of hypercar-worthy features. Along with adding an extended rear diffuser and a large jutting wing, then, he’s subtly massaged the lighting setup to give it a bit more spark.
Despite taking influence from vehicles like the Porsche Mission R, the Czinger 21C, the Lotus Evija, and the Rima Nevera, Khyzyl Saleem has managed to create a concept that’s entirely unto its own. Of course, for the time being, it’s just a render, but maybe Mr. Musk will see the potential the Precept has to offer.
