Stromer Rolls Out a Golden Launch Edition Version of Its High-Tech ST7 eBike

In 2009, entrepreneur and cycling enthusiast Thomas “Thömu” Binggeli launched the Stromer Bike brand, releasing the Stromer V1 upon its debut — a high-performance eBike with a battery integrated into the frame’s downtube — before rolling out a handful of subsequent models over the last 13 years. Most recently, this has culminated in the debut of the company’s all-new Stromer ST7 — its smartest and most capable electric bicycle to date.

Offered in three sizes, the ST7 is constructed around an aluminum frame with a fully-integrated battery — a 48-volt, 1440-watt hour cell that affords a range of up to 160 miles — that can be swapped out at the push of a button. Drawing from the 48-volt cell is a SYNO Sport II motor that generates 38.35ft-lbs of torque and allows for an assisted top speed of just under 30mph. Other standard components include Supernova head and taillights, a Pinion C1.12 Smart.Shift crank, Brooks saddle and grips, Stromer rims shod in Pirelli Angel ST Sport rubber, a cell phone bracket, a Gates carbon belt drive, and a decade-long frame warranty. There’s also an optional ABS-equipped front brake.

What separates the ST7 from other existing road-going bikes is its suite of cutting-edge tech features. This includes automatic smart Bluetooth locking and unlocking, adjustable motor settings, onboard GPS, connectivity to the OMNI smartphone app, a handlebar-integrated display, and the ability to receive over-the-air updates. Before rolling out the regular production version of the ST7, Stromer is releasing a top-shelf Launch Edition variant that’s offered exclusively in a gold colorway.

The Stromer ST7 Launch Edition eBike is slated for a release in October of 2022, with pricing starting from $13,200. Alongside the ST7, Stromer has also unveiled a wide range of optional add-ons and accessories for the eBike such as spare batteries, smart helmets, and luggage.
