SOL Motors Pocket Rocket S Is a 50MPH eBike With 118FT-LBS of Torque

Back in 2018, German startup SOL Motors debuted its award-winning Pocket Rocket lightweight ebike, launching the futuristic electric two-wheeler via an Indiegogo campaign that was ultimately unsuccessful. Fast forward to today and, despite its failed crowdfunding attempt, SOL has now secured other means of financing and has officially revealed a 2021 version of the Pocket Rocket that’s finally available for preorder.

Now more refined, SOL’s Pocket Rocket has been revived, alongside the new, higher-spec S version. The Pocket Rocket S is constructed around a unique aluminum V-Frame chassis paired with suspension and hydraulic disc brakes fore and aft. Weighing less than 125lbs, the S-spec Pocket Rocket features a powerful hub motor with 6,500 watts of peak power that allows for a nearly 50mph top speed and puts down a whopping 118ft-lbs of instantly accessible torque. The Pocket Rocket also sports all LED lighting, a (linked) combined braking system, 16″ cast-aluminum wheels, and an approximately 50-mile range on a single charge. What’s more, the tail of the bike flips up, allowing its battery to slide out and be swapped out on the fly.

The SOL Motors Pocket Rocket S is currently available for preorder on the company’s website after several long years of waiting in either silver or black liveries with pricing set at $6,940.
