This Bespoke Toyota Land Cruiser 76 Proves Even the Most Utilitarian 4×4 Can Clean Up Nice

In markets like Australia where the Land Cruiser 70 Series never disappeared, the LC76 wagon still serves as the family-sized version of Toyota’s most basic workhorse. Think solid axles, a ladder frame, and an interior that prioritizes function over flair. But Sydney-based PVS Automotive just released their first bespoke build, and it’s a reminder that even the most utilitarian platform can clean up nice.

Transitioning to Coach Builder

PVS has been around since 2008, starting as an auto-electrical shop before evolving into a specialist for 4WD steering wheels and navigation systems. Their client list tilts heavily toward dealerships and manufacturers rather than retail walk-ins, so the move into full custom builds feels like a natural expansion. This LC76 — dubbed Bespoke Build No. 001 — showcases their entire catalog of upgrades alongside products from Chinese outfit Urnieta, who makes off-road accessories specifically for the 70 Series.

The base vehicle is a 2025 LC76 GXL automatic, which is notable for being one of the last pre-AdBlue 70 Series wagons before production paused. Under the hood sits Toyota’s 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder (the 1GD-FTV), making 201 hp and 369 lb-ft of torgue through a six-speed automatic and full-time 4WD. Nothing’s been done to the drivetrain or suspension, so mechanically this is still pure 70 Series.

The Indigo Treatment

For the interior, PVS gutted the factory cabin and replaced it with Japanese-spec Recaro Cross Sportster GK100 bucket seats wrapped in Alcantara 9055 — a deep blue that covers basically everything inside. The dash, roof lining, door cards, and even the rear drawer system all get the same treatment, complemented by orange contrast stitching and matching orange seatbelts. A custom carbon steering wheel borrowed from the Toyota Tundra adds another layer of detail, along with carbon air vent rings and navy plush pile carpet.

There’s also a PVS 9-inch MK4 head unit for modern connectivity, though the overall dash layout remains faithful to the 70 Series’ straightforward ergonomics.

Touring Hardware

Outside, the LC76 wears the full Urnieta catalog: front bumper, tubular side steps, roof platform, forged wheels, rear window storage, a spare wheel cover, and a tailgate platform that doubles as a work surface. The entire exterior is wrapped in XPEL self-healing PPF for protection and consistency.

The rear drawer system integrates into the wagon’s cargo area, maintaining usability for longer trips without compromising the bespoke interior finish. Between the roof rack, rear ladder, and tailgate table, this thing is legitimately ready for serious touring work — assuming you’re okay getting the Alcantara a little dirty.
