In February of 2022, world-renowned Porsche tuner Singer Vehicle Design unveiled its Turbo Design Study — an ultra-modern, turbocharged take on a Porsche reimagined by Singer. Three-months-later and Singer has now revealed the first TDS customer build with a 964-based one-off.
Developed with a major focus on raw performance rather than being a GT-focused model like Singer’s initial TDS specimen, the project began life as a 964-gen 911, though very little of the stock donor remains. At the heart of Singer’s first TDS build is a heavily-modified, twin-turbocharged, and inter-cooled 3.8-liter flat-six that’s been mated to a six-speed manual transmission and massaged to put down 510hp. In addition to a lowered stance, the 964 has also been treated to a modern sports-calibrated suspension package and a top-shelf carbon-ceramic braking system.
Visual tweaks to the Porsche include a center, hood-mounted fuel filler, a carbon fiber front splitter, whale tail spoiler, a shark-fin intake, a rear bumper delete, and a full suite of RSR-style carbon bodywork that’s been hit with a Turbo Racing White livery. In typical Singer fashion, the interior of the car has been completely transformed into a bespoke masterpiece. Fully trimmed in custom houndstooth ‘Grun’ cloth throughout, the cabin now includes a slew of carbon fiber accents, a rear cross brace, carbon back seats, lightweight door trims, custom instrumentation, and a one-off three-spoke steering wheel and shift knob.
Singer Vehicle Design has yet to reveal pricing on its new Turbo Design Study model, though we anticipate a price tag of over $1,000,000 — and a very long waiting list.
