Despite having come into existence only a few years ago, Gunther Werks has quickly emerged as one of the world’s most eminent Porsche tuning and restomod outfits, rivaled only by the likes of firms such as Singer and Theon Design. And while the Southern California shop already has a myriad of completed builds under its belt, it’s now announced a major first, and has done so with a bang with its latest one-off 911 restomod commission appropriately dubbed “Bubblegum.”

Based on Gunther Werks’ existing 993-based Coupe platform, this “Remastered 911” represents the tuner’s first-ever righthand-drive project, as well as its first vehicle built for the European and UK markets. Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Bubblegum commission sports Gunther’s signature carbon widebody kit, with swaths of the lightweight woven composite left on display in the car’s hood stripes, rear wing, and grille surrounds. Commissioned by and built for a customer in the UK, the entire build also rides on a set of Fuchs-inspired modern five-arm center-locking wheels equipped with Brembo brakes.

At the heart of the vehicle is a heavily-tuned and modified air-cooled 4.0-liter straight-six engine that’s been mated to a six-speed manual transmission — a lump that now cranks out a cool 435hp. When coupled with its sub-2,700lb curb weight, this engine allows for a power-to-weight ratio of 6.2lbs per pony. In typical Gunther Werks fashion, the 911 donor’s interior has also been completely reworked, and now features carbon-backed bucket seats, a custom carbon steering wheel, and a full carbon trim package — all paired with custom Alcantara upholstery and pink accent stitching. As the one-off’s finishing touch, the 993’s custom bodywork has also been cloaked in a bespoke three-stage pearlescent pink ultra-fine metallic paint job — an ultra-eye-catching element that is obviously the source of the project’s monicker.

While the Bubblegum commission is already spoken for, Gunther Werks is currently accepting commissions for its Remastered 911 builds — though anticipate a lengthy waiting list and near-seven-figure pricing. In addition to the new pink-liveried one-off, Gunther Werks has also pulled the cover off of an orange commission known as “Project Tornado.”
