Although the Swedish automotive brand Polestar cut its teeth in the racing industry, the label’s electric vehicles have been getting more and more attention. At the 2023 IAA Mobility show in Munich, Polestar revealed an EV concept going by the name of Synergy, and it’s the culmination of three winning designer concepts from the Polestar Design Contest. The Polestar Synergy concept was designed by Devashish Deshmukh, Yingxiang Liand, and Swapnil Desai, combining their three winning designs from over 600 entries (a first in the competition’s history).

Participants were tasked with creating a Polestar vehicle that emphasized performance and sustainability, two main pillars of the Swedish marque, and the judging panel selected two exterior winners (Deshmukh and Desai, who we can thank for the hammerhead shark-inspired design) and one interior winner (Li). The car itself is 1.07 meters tall and 4.56 meters long (or ~3.5ft and ~15ft for you Yankees) and has a futuristic design that’s well in line with Polestar’s current offerings, featuring a glass display and a sleek steering yoke inside.

Polestar and Mattell will be displaying a 1:1 scale model of this car at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in California this October to celebrate the new partnership between the duo. This partnership also marks the beginning of Polestar’s entry into the toy market, and you can expect some handheld Polestars soon. The concept is currently being displayed in Munich for the IAA 2023, and there are plans for an upcoming world tour.

Since the Polestar Synergy is just a concept at the moment, there’s no official news on whether it will see the floor, but Polestar has brought concepts to the public before, and they might just do it again. More information is on the way, and you can keep your eyes peeled for it on Polestar’s website.
