After several years of development and extensive road and track testing of its PS-01 Prototype, Picasso Automotive has finally revealed the production-ready version of its inaugural high-performance supercar with the 660 LMS.
Designed, engineered, and assembled completely in-house at Picasso’s state-of-the-art, 20,000-square-foot factory in San Vittore, Switzerland, the 660 LMS is constructed around a monocoque chassis that’s made from structural carbon fiber and paired with a carbon fiber subframe. Mounted behind the driver is a dry-sump 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged billet aluminum V6 engine that was built by Autotecnica Motori and represents the Italian engine builder’s first-ever road-going powertrain. Revving at up to 8,000rpm, the 660 LMS’s V6 is mated to a Sadev six-speed sequential transmission and puts down just over 650hp and 531ft-lbs of torque. The 660 LMS also features the first automotive exhaust system ever made by MotoGP supplier, SC-Project, which is crafted entirely from titanium. Described by Picasso as a race car for the road, the supercar tips the scales at just 2,160lbs.
The 660 LMS also features all-carbon bodywork that’s completely devoid of brackets or fasteners and instead utilizes a puzzle piece-style system that sees the panels connect via special joints. The 660 LMS’s bodywork is also said to employ the longest carbon fiber panel ever made for a car, measuring 10.6’. Benefitting from extensive CFD simulations, the bodywork also allows the 660 LMS to generate more than 2,100lbs of downforce at the supercar’s top speed of just over 195mph. The car’s interior sports a matte carbon fiber trim package, a bespoke Alcantara and carbon fiber steering wheel with carbon paddle shifters, monocoque Sabelt seats with six-point harnesses, a 7” multifunction touch color display, and rotary controls for the vehicle’s adjustable Bosch Motorsport ABS setup, engine map selector, and traction control system. The interior also boasts GT Racing-style digital rearview mirrors with a pair of high-resolution cameras relaying a live feed to two 7” TFT displays set in bespoke carbon fiber housings in the dash.
Limited to just 21 units worldwide — only 20 of which are being sold to the public — the Picasso Automotive 660 LMS Supercar is available for order now, with deliveries scheduled to begin in Q3 or Q4 of 2023. Pricing for the 660 LMS starts at €820,000 (~$862,500).
