Between Singer, Eccentrica, ICON 4×4, Kimera Automobili, Maturo Cars, Speedkore, and Nardone Automotive, there’s no shortage of shops and startups currently producing ultra-premium, high-performance restomods. As such, making a name for yourself and standing out in today’s sea of elite restomod operations is exceedingly difficult. Despite this, that’s exactly what Ukrainian twins Nikita and Iliya Bridan have accomplished within just a few years, operating under the banner of Oilstainlab. And after getting the automotive world’s attention with its Half-11 project, the brothers are now back with their latest custom-designed creation, the Oilstainlab HF-11.
The Basics
Like the Half-11, the HF-11 inspiration from the Porsche 911, along with the Stuttgart firm’s vintage Le Mans vehicles and modern IndyCar racers. Sporting a mid-engine configuration, the vehicle is constructed around a state-of-the-art carbon fiber monocoque that’s been draped in matching carbon fiber bodywork complete with an advanced aero kit. The extensive use of carbon fiber allows the supercar to tip the scales at just 1,950lbs — meaning it weighs less than a Miata, while generating several times more power. Spanning 80” in length, 44” in width, and standing at 44” tall, the HF-11 has a 106.8-inch wheelbase and a 45:55 weight distribution.
Powertrain & Performance
The HF-11 is powered by a mid-mounted naturally-aspirated 4.5-liter flat-six engine that spins at up to 12,000rpm — only 3,000 short of a modern F1 car. Offered with the buyer’s choice of a six-speed manual or seven-speed sequential gearbox, the flat-six cranks out 650hp, all of which is sent to the supercar’s rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Those 650 horses allow the HF-11 to reach 60mph from a complete standstill in a very respectable 3.2 seconds — though there’s no word on its top speed.
An Interior Masterpiece
The HF-11’s butterfly doors open to reveal a cabin that’s just as impressive as the car’s sleek exterior, and while it’s performance-focused through and through, it still comes with an impressive host of creature comforts that would in theory allow it to serve as a more practical — if you can call it that — daily driver. This includes air conditioning, a digital rearview mirror, a backup camera, and adjustable seats. Unlike most modern supercars, the HF-11’s cabin is large enough to comfortably accommodate a 6’3” driver, even when wearing a helmet.
EV Variant
Alongside the initial flat-six-powered HF-11, Oilstainlab will also eventually be offering a fully-electric version of the rear-whee-drive supercar that’s good for an even more impressive 850hp — though the EV supercar will obviously weigh a bit more than the petrol-fed model, and will cost an extra $500,000. Thanks to what the company has christened the Thunder-Volt system, the HF-11 will not only be able to easily swap between its electric motors or flat-six, but the transformation can be done in a home garage with basic tools.
