With an abundance of camper concepts coming from countless companies — and becoming more and more out there in terms of styling — it is refreshing to see that some manufacturers’ builds still adhere to the everlasting outdoors rather than the distant, astral future. One such example is Nissan, whose Caravan Mountain Base concept is sure to keep you cozy on your next hypothetical outdoor venture.
As an eco-friendly starting point, the concept sheds the Caravan’s standard makeup, replacing its traditional side windows with solar panels and adding another large expandable solar panel on the roof. Moving to the interior, you’re greeted with a supremely cozy wood-paneled lining throughout, and furnishings that include a table, a workbench, and even a digital fireplace, the latter of which is sure to provide some added genuineness to any camping trip without costing anyone’s safety. Luckily, the rustic aesthetic doesn’t stop here, as the Caravan’s exterior is finished off with a full woodgrain wrap to evoke the “classic mountain lodge feeling” that Nissan was looking for. With all these added fix-ins, it’s important to mention that this is not your average EV van, as it sits on a quartet of all-terrain tires for some off-grid exploring.
While Nissan is yet to give away too much information in regards to their outdoors-worthy concept, their Caravan Mountain Base is gearing up to make its official debut at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon between January 14th and 16th.
