In 2019, half a decade after first introducing the Huracán, Lamborghini showed off a one-off-one rally-inspired concept car based on the Gallardo’s successor. And while this was originally believed to be a one-off endeavor, the enormous interest the concept has generated has ultimately prompted the Raging Bull to debut a limited edition production version of what’s been christened the Huracán Sterrato (with “Sterrato” meaning “dirt” in Italian).
After previously releasing a teaser video for the car back in late July, Lamborghini has now unveiled a second promo video for what it calls its “Beyond The Concrete” campaign. As one would expect, the footage shows the Huracán Sterrato being unleashed on a series of dirt roads in the Italian hillside. The video doesn’t show many close-up or detailed shots of the forthcoming model, though for its second teaser the vehicle has been treated to a new camo livery wrap.
Additionally, the machine in the new teaser maintains the original concept’s all-terrain tires and auxiliary lighting. The concept also features flared composite fenders that open up space to accommodate the car’s off-road wheels and long-travel suspension package. The original Lamborghini concept’s roof rack — which ran from front to back — has been jettisoned in favor of a new dual-bar rack that runs side-to-side across the Huracán’s roof.
Lamborghini has yet to reveal an official release date for the Huracán Sterrato, though we expect a release within the next year — if not sooner. The Sterrato-spec is also believed to be one of the final Huracán models produced before Lamborghini pulls the plug on the car. Lastly, it’s also still unclear what version of the Huracán the Sterrato will be based on.
