INKAS Turned Land Rover’s 626-HP Defender OCTA Into a Bulletproof Beast

Toronto-based INKAS has spent three decades turning luxury vehicles into fortresses, and their latest project might be their most compelling yet. The 2025 Armored Defender OCTA Edition One takes Land Rover’s most extreme SUV — already a 626hp monument to excess — and wraps it in military-grade protection without sacrificing the performance that makes the OCTA special. For a company that’s been armoring everything from courier trucks to presidential motorcades since 1995, this one blends luxury with impenetrability like no other.

Built Like a Tank, Drives Like a Defender

The OCTA Edition One earns its BR6 certification through a complete 360-degree armored capsule constructed from premium-grade ballistic steel. Large, uninterrupted plates cover the passenger cabin, roof, and floor, while multi-layer ballistic glass replicates the Defender’s original curves across every window. INKAS’s proprietary door overlap system eliminates the vulnerable seams where rounds typically penetrate, and a reinforced bulkhead separates passengers from the cargo area without eating into trunk space.

Critical components get the same treatment. The fuel tank sits inside an armored enclosure to prevent catastrophic failure, while military-grade runflat wheels with polycarbonate inserts keep you mobile even if your tires get punctured. The suspension has also been reinforced to handle the additional weight, and reinforced hinges support the armored doors. What’s impressive is how discreet it is — from a distance, this looks like any other OCTA prowling the streets.

Performance Meets Protection

Land Rover’s stock 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 remains untouched, still producing 626hp and 553lb.ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic. The standard OCTA hits 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, though the armored version will surely trade some of that sprint with the extra weight it’s taking on. INKAS has preserved the Defender’s legendary handling characteristics both on and off-road, which is no small feat when you’re adding this much protection. The forged carbon fiber accents and premium finishes stay intact too, maintaining the OCTA’s luxurious look.

For clients with specific security requirements, INKAS offers tactical upgrades including a roof escape hatch, 360-degree CCTV with GPS, advanced night vision cameras, LED strobe lights, and a siren/PA system with optional intercom. Vehicle enhancements like oxygen filtration, door assist mechanisms, reinforced bumpers, and blackout packages are also available.
