Back in July, Ford rolled out its most capable and high-performance production F-150 ever with the 700-hp Raptor R. Despite the fact that the R-spec Raptor F-150 won’t hit the market until next year, the speed and power-obsessed team over at Hennessey Performance Engineering has already opted to bestow its signature treatment upon the high-performance pickup truck, resulting in the all-new VelociRaptoR 1000.
In a bid to extract more power from the Raptor R’s supercharged 5.2-liter “Predator” V8 — the same mill found in the Shelby GT500 — Hennessey has treated the F-150’s eight-banger with an upgraded supercharger system, replacing the stocker’s 2.65-liter setup with a 3.8-liter supercharger. Benefitting from development borrowed from HPE’s ‘S550’ GT500 Venom program, the upgraded supercharger has been complemented via a new high-flow induction setup, larger fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines, and a new supercharger belt. This suite of upgrades ultimately allows for a roughly 40% boost in power, bringing the VelociRaptoR 1000’s output up to an even 1,000hp and an equally impressive 850ft-lbs of torque.
Alongside unlocking true “super truck” performance capabilities, the VelociRaptoR 1000 upgrade kit also sees the $110,000 donor truck outfitted with several additional off-road-focused upgrades. This includes a special set of larger 20” 10-arm HPE off-road wheels shod in 37” BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, a custom VelociRaptor front bumper with an integrated LED light bar, a custom off-road rear bumper, and several other auxiliary LED lights. VelociRaptoR 1000 badging and a serial-numbered build plaque complete the package.
Available for order now, the Hennessey Performance Engineering Ford Raptor R VelociRaptoR 1000 Upgrade Kit is scheduled to enter production in 2023, by which time pricing and further details are expected to be revealed. In addition to the truck itself, the kit’s eventual MSRP will also includes in-house dyno testing and tuning, extensive on and off-road field testing, and a 2-year / 24,000-mile Hennessey warranty.
