BRABUS Unleashes a Hardcore Off-Roader with the Dakar-Grade 900 Crawler 4×4

Despite the fact the company works with a wide range of Mercedes-Benz models, BRABUS is undoubtedly best-known for its ultra-high-end G-Class conversions. And though the Bottrop brand has already produced a myriad of lifted and ruggedized takes on the G-Wagon, it’s now revealed what’s unequivocally its most hardcore off-roader to date with the Dakar-grade BRABUS 900 Crawler.

Built specifically for extreme desert exploration, the 900 Crawler is constructed around a bespoke tubular steel frame and safety cell that’s devoid of any windows or doors and is capped off with a carbon fiber roof panel. Also fitted with a high-performance BRABUS exhaust system with matte black tailpipes, the Crawler has been outfitted with a full-length aluminum and carbon Kevlar skid plate and fender flares, a carbon roof scoop with an integrated LED module, a custom hood with integrated intakes and air outlets, carbon side skirts, and the tuning brand’s signature carbon rear wing adorning its roof. Riding on 20” BRABUS Monoblock HD forged wheels, the Crawler also features a fully-adjustable custom double wishbone suspension setup with aluminum struts and coil-over springs that offers a whopping 20.8” of ground clearance.

At the heart of the Crawler is the German tuning brand’s BRABUS Rocket 900 twin-turbocharged 4.5-liter V8 engine that’s mated to a nine-speed transmission — offered in either automatic or with manual paddle shifters — and has been tuned to produce an even 900hp and 922ft-lbs of torque. Because the Crawler is built for off-road adventure, its top speed has been electronically limited to around 100mph, though it still boasts a 0-60mph time of just 3.4 seconds — despite a 7,055-lb curb weight. The Crawler’s open-air cabin features bespoke, full-carbon fiber racing seats upholstered in red Silvertex — a high-end marine-grade fabric typically reserved for BRABUS’ speed boats. The interior also gets four-point harnesses, a state-of-the-art GPS navigation system, red-anodized pedals, footrests, and speaker covers, and an advanced two-way comm system that links to the four carbon fiber race helmets sold with each 4×4.

Limited to only 15 units worldwide, the BRABUS 900 Crawler is available for order now, with pricing set at €891,310 (~$936,400).
