Founded by Joseph Ghattas in 2020, Apocalypse Manufacturing is an elite South Florida-based customs shop and marque that specializes in delivering over-the-top, spare-no-expense apocalypse-ready 6×6 customs based on several contemporary truck donor platforms. Having now completed over 500 builds, the shop has taken its 6×6-building expertise and applied it to the creation of what’s being touted as the world’s first-ever new body-style Land Rover Defender 6×6.
The Basics
Christened the “World Ender,” Apocalypse Manufacturing’s latest build series starts life as a Land Rover Defender Carpathian Edition before being bestowed with a custom 6×6 setup, a bespoke widebody kit, a proprietary suspension, and a host of interior upgrades. This six-figure build series aims to maintain the Carpathian Edition donor’s immense luxury while hugely bolstering its overall durability and go-anywhere prowess.
A Potent Powertrain
At the heart of the Word Ender is Ranger Rover’s new supercharged 5.0-liter V8 platform. This forced induction V8 cranks out 518hp and 461ft-lbs of torque. In addition to a custom exhaust culminating in mufflers exiting just ahead of the back wheels, the engine has also been paired with Apocalypse Manufacturing’s own patented Tandem Middle Axle unit which ensures power is sent to all six wheels.
Up-Specced Suspension
One of the biggest highlights on The World Ender is undoubtedly its custom in-house-developed suspension setup. Also benefitting from custom control arms, a bespoke subframe, and custom spindles, the 6×6 utilizes an independent pneumatic Air Ride suspension fore and aft that enables it to be raised or lowered by up to 8” at the touch of a button.
Off-Road Upgrades
The World Ender comes loaded with a front “Cow Killer” push bar, armor side steps, full skid plates, and a roll-cage-equipped four-foot bed. A roof rack has also been added, along with a quad-beam auxiliary light setup sandwiched between the donor’s roof and new roof rack. The entire 6×6 build rides on half-a-dozen 20-inch military-style rims shod massive in 38-inch tires. Increasingly the Defender’s width by a whopping two-feet, massively flared fenders have also been added all-around in order to open up space for the project’s bigger wheels and tires and increased suspension travel.
A Custom Cabin
In typical Apocalypse Manufacturing fashion, the South Florida shop has massively transformed the already-luxurious interior of the Carpathian Edition Defender. Changes to the cabin include custom upholstery adorning the seats and door panels, as well as a custom trim package, a cutting-edge entertainment system, and a host of customizable elements that can be configured by the buyer.
