APG’s Ford Bronco ProRunner is a Baja-Ready Performance Package

When Ford recently revived its mighty Bronco model, it didn’t just aim to recreate a modernized take on the truck’s appearance, but also, much like its predecessor, deliver some of the best go-anywhere capabilities in its class right off the showroom floor. Despite this reality, Southern California’s Automotive Performance Group has opted to take the Bronco’s desert-running performance to the next level with a turnkey ProRunner package that even puts the Blue Oval’s Raptor-spec variant to shame.

Touted by APG as being the “ultimate performance package” for the body-on-framer, the Ford Bronco ProRunner features the company’s Bronco Long Travel Suspension System that features 3.5”-wider-per-side billet upper and boxed lower control arms, and 3.0” King Race Series coilovers and 2.5” triple bypass shocks — a setup that ultimately affords a whopping 16.5” of suspension travel. On top of being upgraded, the shocks and coilovers have also been housed in raised and reinforced shock towers. Opening up space for the nearly 1.4’ of travel are aerospace-grade carbon-fiber high clearance fenders at all four corners — items that are 5”-wider-per-side and can be paired with the customer’s choice of 1″, 3″, or 5″ exposed carbon flares.

In addition to an available carbon-fiber hood insert and a one or three-piece hardtop, APG is also offering each Bronco ProRunner with a wide variety of available wheels, paint options, and aftermarket accessories. The team at APG has also strengthened the Bronco’s drivetrain via the addition of an Ultimate Dana 60 rear axle that’s 7” wider than the stock unit, along with an Ultimate Dana 44 IFS drive unit and a 300M RCV HD axle up front. These upgrades collectively turn the already competent Bronco into a Baja-ready rig with genuine prerunning capabilities.
