When Carroll Shelby transformed a humble British roadster into the race-winning Cobra back in 1962, the formula was deceptively simple: take a proven platform and drop in more power than it was ever meant to handle. Sixty-plus years later, Shelby American still carries that same ethos. The 2026 Shelby F-250 Super Baja is the first in a completely redesigned lineup, built from a clean sheet and debuting out of Shelby Performance’s new facility in Bristol, Indiana.

The Baja Lineage

The F-250 Super Baja program has been around since 2021, when Shelby debuted its take on Ford’s Super Duty platform, a truck aimed squarely at buyers who wanted something not offered from the factory. The early trucks used Fox shocks and a 475-hp version of Ford’s 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel, with a cap of around 250-300 units. They sold out pretty quickly. Then came the 2023 refinements, which dialed in handling and suspension travel through extensive on- and off-road testing. Now, for 2026, Shelby has essentially started over.

The switch from Fox to King Shocks is the most significant mechanical update here. The new Shelby-proprietary suspension setup is built around King Race Series 2.5 adjustable front coilovers with finned reservoirs, paired with King 2.5 rear piggyback shocks and dual King steering stabilizers. Tubular radius arms improve suspension geometry, and the whole package is calibrated to take on terrain at speed without losing control of that huge Super Duty body.

What’s New for 2026

As for exterior, the new functional Air Induction Hood with painted extraction vents actually pulls air more efficiently into the engine bay for better efficiency in hot desert terrain. Up front, Addictive Desert Designs gives it a high-clearance bumper replacement, incorporating recovery points, airflow venting, and SAE/DOT-compliant lighting, plus a 40-inch LED light bar integrated cleanly into the design. The rear bumper adds dual 10-inch LED reverse lights. Around the sides, painted OE-style fender flares carry marker lights, and Shelby’s active fender vents with the brand logo round out the details.

The bed gets a Shelby Baja chase rack with a new nine-pod, power-actuated LED light bar, which is a notable upgrade over previous iterations. You also get side panels and mounts for two full-size spare wheels and tires. Those tires are 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 Mud-Terrains by default, though buyers in snow country can opt for the KO3 All-Terrains. Either way, they’re wrapped around 20-inch two-tone off-road wheels, with Shelby recalibrating the TPMS and speedometer and performing a four-wheel alignment before delivery.

The 2026 Super Baja is built on the F-250 Lariat Ultimate 4×4 SuperCrew, which arrives with Ford’s embedded 5G Wi-Fi. It’s the first truck in the U.S. to feature it.

Cosmetic Upgrades

Shelby has long made a point of not neglecting the cabin on their truck builds, and the 2026 Super Baja doesn’t break that streak. Open the door and you’re greeted with full top-grain leather seat covers with Shelby-specific embroidery, carbon fiber interior trim, billet racing pedals, and embroidered floor mats. Each truck also comes with a CSM serialized plaque and engine bay plaque, tying the build to the official Shelby Registry.

Shelby is calling this the most customizable F-250 in the model’s history. Six Le Mans-style vinyl stripe options (Gloss Blue, Gloss Gray, Gloss Red, Gloss Silver, Gloss White, and Matte Black) can be paired across nine exterior body colors. New for 2026 is the ability to color-match the Shelby grille lettering to either the body color or the stripe.
