Successor to the M6 GT3, the BMW M4 GT3 first hit the race track in July of 2020, and since making its competition debut, the GT3-spec M4 has amassed more than 125 podiums, nearly 75 race wins, and a whopping 9 championship titles across a host of series such as IMSA GTD, the Sprint Cup, the GT World Challenge, and FIA WEC LMGT3.
Despite having set the bar incredibly high, the Bavarian brand’s M Motorsport division has now pulled the cover off of a new-and-improved GT3 class racecar with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO.

The Basics
Unveiled the night before this year’s 24 Hours at the Nürburgring event, the M4 GT3 EVO is a top-of-the-line, spare-no-expense, track-only race car that was developed by BMW M Motorsport. Spanning 197.6” from front splitter to rear wing and sporting a 114.8” wheelbase, the M4 GT3 EVO benefits from a host of tweaks and upgrades over the already-extremely-competitive M4 GT3 that collectively make for an even more high-performance racer. Benefitting from ample customer feedback, this new model was also designed with a major focus on improving aerodynamics and weight reduction.
M Motorsport Motor
At the heart of BMW’s new M4 GT3 EVO is an M TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter P58 straight-six engine. This twin-turbocharged six-banger comes bolted to an X-Trac six-speed gearbox with an electro-hydraulic clutch — an advanced transmission setup that’s essentially an evolved version of the unit found in the M8 GTE. Additionally, the EVO-spec model also gains an updated twin-turbo system that’s not only more reliable, but it also doesn’t require any servicing for the first 12,427 miles. In total, this cutting-edge powertrain cranks out up to 590hp and 516ft-lbs of torque.

Performance Parts
Riding on a set of 10-arm center-locking 18” wheels shod in racing slicks, the M4 GT3 EVO benefits from a generous slew of top-of-the-line componentry. This includes a motorsport-specific, fully-adjustable suspension setup with KW Motorsport shocks, an easier-to-adjust differential, new anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles, and a larger, more powerful braking system compridsed of six-pot calipers out front chomping down on massive 390mm discs, and quad-piston calipers in back paired with 380mm rotors. The car’s braking hardware is also mounted using a quick-change system.
Optimized Aero
One of the biggest — and most visually-obvious — changes to the EVO package-equipped M4 GT3 is the race car’s new widebody kit. Crafted from partially-exposed carbon fiber, the body features an adjustable front splitter, new aero mirrors, a massive rear diffuser, multi-plane side skirts, bigger air outlets on the front wheel arches, a louver-equipped hood, and an adjustable swan neck-style rear wing. Installed using quick-release latches, the new aero kit results in the M4 GT3 EVO clocking in a 80.3” wide.
Contemporary M Livery
The new M4 GT3 EVO wears a modern take on a typical M Motorsport livery, seeing its traditional red, white, and dark and light blue colors applied to a contemporary pixel-inspired design. Rather than being painted onto the bodywork, the EVO-spec M4 GT3’s livery has been applied to the car using a state-of-the-art cathodic dip coating process that shaves even more weight off the vehicle. The livery is juxtaposed via a myriad of exposed carbon fiber sections. Additionally, the racer’s center-locking wheels have also been finished in black before being hit with red and blue accents.

Competition-Spec Cabin
The gutted, race-spec interior of BMW’s new M4 GT3 EVO is a far cry from the cabin of the regular M4. Fortified via an FIA-compliant roll cage, the inside of BMW’s latest GT3 class racer features an LM-type yoke-style steering wheel, a BMW M Motorsport safety race seat, a Boschi DDU 10 race display, and an adjustable steering column and pedalbox.
Other Odds & Ends
The 2025 M4 GT3 EVO is rounded out by a host of other small but noteworthy elements. This includes an onboard air jack system and new LCI design head and taillights that help to shave off even more weight. BMW has also treated the car’s headlights to CSL-style yellow accents. What’s more, poking out from just beneath the racer’s taillights is a dual-pipe exhaust setup with flame-blued tips.
Excellence Evolved
At the end of the day, what really makes this track-only model so special is the fact that it manages to build on and improve what’s already a wildly capable competition car — as evidenced by its enormous slew of podiums, race wins, and championship titles. This aero-optimized, more lightweight M4 GT3 model is practically guaranteed to contribute to the Bavarian brand’s trophy case.
