Introduced as a concept model in 2018 and brought to production for the 2021 model year (while being featured in Avengers: Endgame somewhere in between), the Audi e-tron GT may not yet have caught on as much as the Porsche Taycan on whose platform its built. However, the German manufacturer is presenting us with its models for 2025 and they look quite impressive, featuring a Performance model that happens to be the most powerful production car ever from Audi.
2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance Basics
Topping the S e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT (more on those later) is the RS e-tron GT Performance model, which features Audi’s dual-motor electric powertrain that puts out a whopping 912hp (when tapping into the car’s overboost function) and has a 0-to-60 time of 2.5 seconds. Helping you achieve a max speed of 155mph on the four-door sedan, the overboost function tacks on the extra 94hp for 10 seconds so you can maximize your power if needed.
Apparently, the extra power capabilities come from its optimized battery pack. According to the press release, “Audi has lowered the weight of the high-voltage battery while simultaneously increasing its energy density.”
Nearly 20lbs lighter, the electric battery has increased in available energy from 290kW to 400kW and now boasts a net storage capacity of 97kWh. It’s also gotten a revised cooling system and a larger driveshaft for higher efficiency. Likewise, the evolved battery pack can also be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes at an HPC station thanks to an increase in DC fast charging that aeds another 174 miles of range. The total range per charge is around 378 miles.
How Does It Look?
Falling into the design language we’ve come to know from the e-tron GT range, the new models still look fantastic but with an all-around sportier aesthetic. It features the classic honeycomb grill but with a new two-dimensional version of the Audi logo. Also, for the first time, an option for a dark matte carbon roof with camouflage elements. For the wheels, there’s now the option for either 20‑inch multi-spoke wheels or six-twin-spoke wheels. The RS Performance, along with the standard RS model, gets tungsten carbide-coated brakes with the option for track-ready carbon fiber ceramic discs or 10-piston calipers.
On the inside, the notable upgrades include a redesigned seat with new material options, a new projection effect when opening the door, and a squared-off steering wheel design on the top and bottom.
What Else Is in the New Lineup?
Along with the range-topping RS Performance, there are the S e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT. Despite being the lowest of the three models, the S still gets impressive specs in its own right, boasting 670hp and a 3.4-second 0-to-60 time — topping the previous RS model. As for the current RS model, it approaches the RS Performance with 844hp and a 2.8-second 0-to-60. Like the Performance model, the RS e-tron GT also utilizes the overboost function.
