After nearly a decade without a major model revision, Toyota has finally pulled the cover off of the all-new, highly-anticipated fourth-generation Tacoma pickup truck. And while Toyota has been teasing this new mid-sized model range for the last several months, this monumental reveal has made it abundantly clear that the 2024 Toyota Tacoma was very much worthy of the hype that it’s been generating.

The 2024 Tacoma lineup features a completely redesign set of bodywork with a new grille design and new LED head and taillights. Like the latest Tundra, the 2024 Tacoma receives a major powertrain upgrade in the form of a 278-hp i-FORCE turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine as standard. Depending on the trim level, the new Taco is also being offered with an available i-FORCE MAX powertrain — a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid mill cranking out 326hp and 465ft-lbs of torque. Designed, engineered, and assembled in North America, the entire 2024 Tacoma lineup also comes fitted with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite as standard.

The 2024 model year pickup will be offered in eight different trim levels; the base model SR; the SR5; the TRD PreRunner; the TRD Sport; the TRD Off-Road; the Limited, the Trail Hunter; and the range-topping TRD Pro — though it’s the latter two models that are undoubtedly the most noteworthy. The all-new Trail Hunter-spec is a factory-built Overlander that features upgrades including ARB steel bumpers, a high-mounted intake, and headache rack, plus Old Man Emu suspension and skid plates, RIGID Industries lighting, and a removable/portable JBL Flex speaker. Inspired by modern Baja racers, the top-of-the-line Tacoma TRD Pro comes loaded with go-anywhere ammonites such as a high-clearance front bumper, an ARB steel rear bumper, FOX QS3 Internal Bypass shocks with 2.5″ aluminum housing, hardened oversize shock shafts, and remote reservoirs, a multi-link rear suspension, a stabilizer disconnect mechanism, Multi-Terrain Select with Crawl Control, massively flared fenders cloaked in gloss-finished armor cladding, and 18” TRD Pro alloy wheels shod in 33” all-terrain tires. The TRD Pro Taco is also being used to debut Toyota’s new IsoDynamic Performance Seats which feature built-in vertical and lateral shocks that offer adjustable pressure and dampening.
