Successor to the Austrian outfit’s 1190 Adventure model, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure first hit the market in 2015 and is now widely recognized as one of the most premium and capable adventure-tourers on the market. And for its latest model year, the Ready To Race brand is looking to maintain its dominance on the segment with the debut of the 2023 1290 Super Adventure S.
KTM’s newest S-spec bike, the entire machine is pieced together around a chrome-molybdenum stainless steel frame that weighs just 22lbs — and is paired with a forged aluminum subframe. The chassis has also been fitted with the latest semi-active suspension and hardware from WP. At the heart of the bike is KTM’s latest LC8 V-Twin engine that now cranks out 160hp and 101.7ft-lbs of torque. The bike also rides on a new set of Mitas TERRA FORCE-R tires that were designed specifically for KTM’s newest Super Adventure model.
Upgraded navigation potential with Turn-by-Turn+ guidance, adaptive cruise control, and a Bosch 6D sensor all come standard on the motorcycle. What’s more, alongside being offered with a host of available luggage, this full-sized ADV touring model has been bestowed with a slew of travel-focused amenities such as illuminated switchgear, an adjustable windscreen, cutting-edge ABS, new ride modes, onboard tire pressure monitoring, revised ergonomics, and all-LED lighting. The latest iteration of the 1290 Super ADV S also comes in two all-new livery options.
The 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S Motorcycle is slated for a release in January of 2023, and while pricing has yet to be revealed, we anticipate a roughly $20,000 MSRP (based on the 2022 model year’s $19,499 price tag).
