Honda Is Now Selling Production Civic Si Racecars — and They’re Affordable

What do you do after your car wins a bunch of touring competition races? You offer production versions of that same car for the public to buy and drive on the track. At least that’s what Honda Performance Development, Honda’s racing team, is doing with the latest 11th generation of its Civic Si FE1 race car.

The 10th gen Civic Si found success on the track, winning the 2018 and 2020 SRO drivers’ championships and was vice-champion in 2021. With several upgrades, the 11th generation version seems like it’s built for similar success, with two race wins already and several podium finishes in early-season SRO touring races at Sonoma and NOLA Motorsports Park. Launched last year, the roadgoing version of the Civic Si was awarded the 2022 North American Car of the Year.

Assembled at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, the four-door racecar will be outfitted with a Honda L15CA 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and an HPD-strengthened 6-speed manual transmission. Unlike other fast production cars that warrant racecar comparisons, this Civic will come totally ready to race, equipped with a roll cage and HPD homologated suspension, exhaust, fuel cell, and Motec electronics packages. While the roadgoing Civic Si has a sunroof and insulation, this track-ready version ditches all the bells and whistles in favor of these performance and safety components.

If you want to bomb around in one of these Honda HPD Civic Si FE1 sedans, you can pre-order one now with a $25,000 deposit toward a shockingly affordable $55,000 total price tag. Head over to Honda HPD to learn more.
