The iX M60 Is BMW’s Fastest & Most Powerful Fully-Electric Model Ever

While the BMW brand is synonymous with class-leading performance, the Bavarian firm’s fully-electrified offerings have thus far tended to focus on practicality and environmental sustainability rather than the company’s signature blend of luxury and speed. With its latest model release, however, BMW is remedying this reality, getting back to its high-performance roots in an all-electric package with its all-new iX M60.

Making its official debut at CES 2022, BMW’s latest fully-electric crossover SUV marks the Munich manufacturer’s strongest and fastest electric car yet, earning it an M badge with an ultra-potent powertrain that pumps out 610hp and 811ft-lbs of torque — allowing for a 155mph top speed and a 0-60mph time of just under 3.8 seconds. The cutting-edge electric motor setup draws from a 111.5 kWh battery pack that provides 280 miles of autonomy between charges and can be juiced up to 80% from 0% in only 35 minutes. The iX M60 also features an advanced electric all-wheel-drive system, as well as BMW’s highly responsive actuator-based wheel slip limitation system, plus a state-of-the-art suspension package with an M-tuned dual-axle air setup that boasts automatic level control. Alongside not putting out any emissions or CO2, the new iX model also utilizes 100% green energy in its manufacturing, along with a slew of recycled materials in its construction, both inside and out.

On top of standing as a new high-performance electric offering, the new M-badged iX Sports Activity Vehicle model also gives a glimpse at the future of BMW and how the brand plans on balancing its propensity for hair-raising performance capabilities with a greener, more sustainable future. Scheduled to hit dealerships later this Summer, the 2023 BMW iX M60 will start at $105,100.
