Bentley recently teased its high-octane Mulliner Batur, a coach-build packed with the marque’s most powerful version of its iconic W12 engine. Today, the British auto manufacturer hints at a sustainable future with the official unveiling of its 729-horsepower-equipped ride.
It’s hard to imagine sustainability being the key focal point of any car powered by a W12, but the unique design language implemented into this announcement speaks volumes. Bentley hopes to wheel out its first-ever full EV in 2025, and this sleek look serves as a seamless segue into the world of eco-friendly luxury. The car’s futuristic design truly speaks for itself, and we can only expect to see more of it in the future. Eco-cognizance trickles down to its bespoke interior, crafted using sustainable materials like low-carbon leather sourced from Scotland to reduce emissions, and Dinamica, the latter of which is a suede-like alternative.
As we hinted earlier, the Batur’s performance specs are as impressive as its unique design. Bentley touts it as the most powerful model in its history, boasting 737.5lb-ft of torque and the previously mentioned 729hp. Additional features include 48V electric active anti-roll control, four-wheel steering, and torque vectoring, which the marque implemented to parallel “the most advanced Bentley chassis ever.” Lastly, the 3D-printed finishers in the titanium exhaust system are another innovative element that appears here, as this is the first time Bentley has ever used this technique.
The sumptuous grand-tourer is as exclusive as it gets, limited to 18 examples with a price tag of £1.65 million (~$1.94 million).
