Just prior to the turn of the millennium, Aston Martin rolled out its first-ever V12-engined production model with the DB7 Vantage. Since then, V12 models have consistently represented the pinnacle of the Gaydon marque’s elite automotive offerings. However, as the firm prepares to transition to an all-electric future, it’s moving permanently away from 12-cylinder powerplants, which makes the just-unveiled 2023 V12 Vantage the last that will ever be produced.
Kicked along by the same state-of-the-art mill powering the DBS Superleggera, the V12 Vantage packs a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 engine that’s good for 690.4hp and 555.4ft-lbs of torque — a setup that allows the coupe to clock 0-60mph runs in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 200mph, making it the fastest and most powerful Vantage ever built. The engine is mated to an automatic ZF eight-speed transmission that’s paired with the same mechanical limited-slip differential found on the manual transmission Vantage. And, at 384.6hp-per-ton, the V12 Vantage boasts a power-to-weight ratio that’s 20% better than the already-potent V8 Vantage.
Offered exclusively as a coupe and not available as a manual transmission model, the new V12 Vantage also features a stance that’s 1.6” wider, a revised steering system, Michelin Pilot 4S-wrapped 21” wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes as standard, a special center-mounted stainless steel twin-exit exhaust system, improved cooling thanks to a new radiator and a 25% larger grille design, a heavily revised and reinforced chassis, and a redesigned suspension package with new top mounts, revised sway bars, and a new rear axle secondary spring. Outfitted with a wing-equipped aero kit that produces 450lbs of downforce at the vehicle’s top speed, the car also sports front and rear bumpers, hood, fenders, side sills, and a decklid that are all crafted from carbon fiber.
Limited to only 333 units worldwide, the 2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage is scheduled to begin deliveries in Q2 of this year, and while pricing has yet to be revealed, all examples have already been sold to their future owners. The elite British marque is also allowing buyers to build out their own bespoke examples through the brand’s Q by Aston Martin program, and as such, no two specimens will be exactly alike.
