Since its debut in 2014, the Polaris Slingshot has not only boomed in popularity but has also become arguably one of the most iconic three-wheeled vehicles in the world. The open-air roadster is a symbol of casual, fun travel within urban environments, and despite being known for its legendary off-road vehicles, the on-road Slingshot’s popularity has led the Minnesota-based manufacturer to develop four new trim levels for the 2022 lineup of its popular three-wheeled roadster.
Falling in line with the popular adage “variety is the spice of life,” the 2022 Slingshot lineup offers four models and four levels of trims. Starting out the new lineup of Slingshots is the S Model, which Polaris is marketing as “a blank canvas for customization.” Owners can opt to upgrade the S Model with the Technology Package 1, which includes a 100-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system with a 2.7-inch display, speaker pods, and Rockford Fosgate tweeters in the dash. The next slingshot model, the SL, delivers enhanced features, such as added style components, premium finishes, a 100-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system, and a seven-inch touchscreen display powered by RIDE COMMAND. After the SL comes the reintroduction of the popular SLR, which sports a ProStar four-cylinder engine with 203HP and a sporty exterior two-tone paint scheme. The SLR also features gloss and matte finishes, premium sport seats, and multi-tone paint with full-body graphics. Rounding out the four new models is the most premium Slingshot, the R model, which sports a 203-HP ProStar engine, Brembo Brakes, and Polaris’ new Vented Sport Hood that improves aerodynamics and cockpit airflow via vented fenders and hood scoop.
If the four new Slingshots aren’t enough to choose from, Polaris is also offering four new trim levels for added accessories: the Drive Series which improves handling and performance, the Escape Series which improves driver comfort, the Show Series which outfits your Slingshot with LED lights and a 3 Roll Hoop Audio Kit, and the Design Series which allows for added personalization. The 2022 Polaris Slingshots will ship in early 2022 and retail starting at $19,999.
