The Morgan Motor Company has a long and illustrious history dating back to 1910. And while the British brand hasn’t been a mainstay in motorsport competition for more than half-a-century, Morgan nonetheless possesses an extensive competition track record that included major wins at a number of high-profile events, including the Morgan Plus 4 SuperSports — or TOK 258 — that won the 2.0-liter class at the infamous 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1962.
Fast forward six decades later to today, and the historic automaker has opted to celebrate its class win at Le Mans with a limited-edition tribute model known as the Plus Four LM62. This Plus Four comes loaded with a host of special features that are unique to the LM62 model. This includes auxiliary driving spotlights, body-color-matched A-pillars, a black splitter and cowl mesh, a polished stone-guard, an active sports exhaust with black tailpipes, black mohair side screens, a custom side screen bag embroidered with the LM62 logo, silver-painted wire wheels, an LM-style fuel cap, and a custom LM62 rear badge. The interior of the LM62 boasts LM62 laser-engraved black saddle-leather door pulls and headrests, custom satin lacquer rubber mats with bespoke black vinyl edges, a Tawny wood center-tunnel top and dashboard, and heated black leather Comfort Plus seats adorned in horizontal pleating and leather-wrapped seatbacks.
The LM62-spec Plus Four is produced in two color options, Morgan Jet Green or Morgan Tertre Rouge — both of which pay homage to Morgan’s LM-winning racer, as well as the Circuit de la Sarthe, itself. These special liveries also sport the race number 29 — another throwback to the 1962 Plus 4 SuperSports racer. And, just like on that TOK 258 racecar, the Plus Four is equipped with a Heritage White-finished hardtop as standard — the first time this option has ever been available on the P4. Morgan is also offering an optional LM62 accessory pack that’s comprised of a set of two-eared wheel spinners, a genuine Moto-Lita steering wheel, cafe-style headlight tape, and a chromed interior rear-view mirror.
Available worldwide for order now, the Morgan Plus Four LM62 is offered in LHD and RHD variants, as well as with the buyer’s choice of an automatic or manual transmission. Limited to only 62 units globally — each of which will sport an individualized/serialized number plate — pricing for the limited-edition Le Mans tribute is set at £78,995 (~$107,325).
