Back in September, Ford teased the upcoming release of its Bronco Raptor — a high-performance variant of the revived sixth-generation SUV that follows in the footsteps of the F-150 Raptor. As the model’s release grows ever closer, Ford has opted to give the motoring public an additional glimpse of the Raptor-spec Bronco, inviting the crew over at The Bronco Nation to an undisclosed location to see the new model in the flesh and take the first official photos.
Taking aim at high-performance turnkey models like the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, the forthcoming Bronco Raptor is expected to receive a larger and more powerful engine — like the F-150 Raptor which packs a 3.5L EcoBoost mill over the base model’s 2.7L lump — as well as a skid plate, and long travel suspension — the latter of which will likely sport FOX Live Valve internal bypass shocks. Alongside boasting an AWD system, we do now know that the Bronco Raptor will come equipped with flared fenders, a revised grille and lighting arrangement, and larger 37″ all-terrain tires.
Pricing and availability have yet to be revealed, as have any official specs or performance figures, though Ford has stated that the Bronco Raptor is slated for a release in the summer of 2022. And, just like the F-150 Raptor, we anticipate Ford to offer a host of available factory options and upgrades for the Raptor-spec Bronco.
